Police have identified the man found dead in a car towed from the TJ Maxx in Brookline as 32-year-old Devonte McFall of Roxbury.

McFall had been inside a vehicle parked at the department store at 525 Harvard Street since about 3:30 p.m. on May 8, according to Paul Campbell, a deputy superintendent with the Brookline Police Department.

The car was towed with his body in it just before 11:30 p.m. that night, Campbell said, and not discovered until the next morning at the D&G Towing lot in Allston.

The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of McFall’s death, a process which can take weeks, but Campbell said that early indications are the death was “not suspicious.”
