The article in Brookline.News about Soofa signs was very useful. Now I know I need to turn off Bluetooth as well as wi-fi as I walk around Brookline. This provides no useful data for Brookline since not everyone walks around with a cell phone blasting out information, so it will undercount the senior population, which is less likely to carry smart phones. Since the data acquired would not be accurate and for the obvious privacy reasons, I believe the town’s contract should be cancelled. Any business owner that needs to find out what time periods have heavy foot traffic just needs to open the door and check it out.
