As someone who has lived on Beacon Street in this neighborhood for 18 years and loves it, I am happy to see that the empty spaces on the block will be filled again. And the outdoor capacity is certainly a plus! But, if I am truly honest, I am more than disappointed that EVERY restaurant will be Asian. We already have a wonderful Japanese bakery, a bubble tea place, and a supermarket and a couple of sushi places, along with a Japanese hibachi place that did sustain Covid. It’s odd that not more thought went into how wonderful some “diversity” would have been… Perhaps, a burger bar and an Italian restaurant (I don’t think there is even one real North End-style Italian restaurant in Brookline) or maybe a restaurant featuring fish or how about Greek, OR a great Jewish deli?? Is the property owner saying that NO ONE else approached or was he just happy to quickly fill all the spaces with the first people who bit? I frankly think a great opportunity was missed and maybe with some more thoughtful processing or input from the community  there might have been a better mix might with wider appeal.
