RE: Message from the editor

July 6, 2023

I write not in response to any specific article, but rather in general appreciation for Brookline.News.

After the untimely demise of the Brookline Tab, the Brookline civic sphere lost a key link to Brookline’s residents. Unless one was already deep in, how could you vote, let alone join a civic group or board, run for town meeting, or lobby for a cause, if the only information you received about the town was partisan mailings from diametrically opposed groups? How could you tell which platform you agreed with more without hours of in-depth research?

For that reason, I and others looked hopefully for the establishment of a new town newspaper, and I’m happy to report that, at least in my view, Brookline.News has not let our town down! With insightful reporting on everything from town elections, to town meeting, to high school sporting events, reading Brookline.News has truly given both me and others a full view of life in our great Town of Brookline.

To Brookline.News, thank you, and thank you again!

Jay Sweitzer-Shalit, Precinct 10 Resident
