RE: Town Meeting ceasefire resolution quickly sparks “intense but calm” debate

It is time for town representatives to do their job and stay out of international politics. I can’t think of an issue more unworthy of the town than a ceasefire in Gaza. Those supporting the ceasefire do nothing to calm the conflict, and those against it understand the danger in dealing with terrorists. The town has so many issues worthy of attention. The collapsing retail economy around Brookline. The movement toward making traffic lights pedestrian unfriendly. The budget cuts affecting the schools. The uncompetitive pharmacy situation in Coolidge Corner. As a resident, I would like to see the town meeting focus on fixing those issues. A ceasefire that divides residents is not helping our town issues.
